Mixing ethanol with gas in a vehicle help to lower the need for traditional oil in the tank and produce effective combustion. Consequently, the increase demand for ethanol requires higher corn production. Therefore, farms have oriented their production towards corn, leaving other kinds of food aside. Foods in general became rarer and merchant have raised their prices, which creates presently an international crisis. Unfortunately, recent researches have shown that ethanol emit as much greenhouse gases then traditional oil.
